Humanitarian Action for Sudan
Mission Statement
We aim to support humanitarian efforts in Sudan by providing emergency assistance to local community groups working on the ground across the country. These brave individuals are working in precarious situations to bring urgent relief to people caught up in the conflict. With little food and medical assistance available, they are often the only means through which much needed aid can be accessed.
What is Humanitarian Action for Sudan (HAS)
-
Sudanese led
We are a group of like-minded Sudanese individuals in the diaspora, who are deeply concerned about the suffering of the people of Sudan and the world’s indifference to what is the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
-
Focus on civilians
Our focus is purely on protecting civilians and humanitarian action across the country.
-
Non-partisan and non-affiliated
We are a non-partisan and non-affiliated humanitarian charitable fund.
-
Advocacy
We are also an advocacy group to raise awareness of the humanitarian impact of the conflict and advocate for a robust response on the international stage, such as the United Nations (UN), African Union (AU) and bilaterally. We also support engagement to find creative and innovative ways to better protect civilians and amplify their voices.
-
Raise and distribute funds
We aim to reduce the suffering of civilians on the ground by raising and distributing funds directly to affected communities.
-
Provide resources
We provide up-to-date information on the violence, abuse and deprivation in Sudan. We provide a weekly update of news on Sudan in English and Arabic, as well as collating any relevant documents and resources on Sudan.
