Cholera, malaria, dengue and measles have been reported in over 12 states, all amidst a collapsed public healthcare system. 90% of health facilities in Sudan are not functional. 5 million people, including children under the age of 5 and pregnant women will face heightened threat of death due to a lack of access to healthcare services.
12.1 million people or 25% of the country are at risk of gender based violence
Sexual and gender based violence continues to be used as a weapon of war and women continue to bear the brunt of this conflict.
200,000 deaths, hundreds of thousands injured and 12.8 million forcibly displaced
The UN describes Sudan as “the largest and most devastating displacement, humanitarian and protection crisis in the world today”. Millions of people have fled the country into Chad, Egypt, Ethiopia, Libya, South Sudan and Uganda, with 1 in 3 people having had to leave their homes, and 9 million people internally displaced.
UN estimates $6.0 billion is needed for Sudan - only 18% has been raised
$4.2 billion is needed for the 21 million Sudanese people inside Sudan and $1.8 billion for the millions displaced across borders.
