Five aid workers killed and several injured after attack on UN aid convoy in Sudan

  • A convoy of 15 aid vehicles were attacked as they travelled to reach children and families in the famine-affected area of El Fasher. [Sky News] [NPR ] [Reuters] [The Guardian] [BBC]

  • The five aid workers killed were all Sudanese contractors working for WFP and UNICEF and their convoy had travelled over 1,800 kilometres from the city of Port Sudan carrying vital nutritional supplies to North Darfur. [UN News]

Over four million people have now fled Sudan due to the conflict

Cholera continues to spread, particularly in overcrowded areas such as Omdurman

  • Cholera has become an epidemic, spreading in several states, including White Nile and Gadarif, and killing hundreds in the last two weeks.

  • “In areas south of the Nile in Omdurman, there are a lot of corpses rotting next to [or in] the Nile, and this has [partially] caused the spread of infection,” said a volunteer in Omdurman. [Al Jazeera English]

Families look for loved ones abducted by the RSF

  • As families return to their home to Khartoum they scour hospitals and morgues for loved ones abducted by the RSF when they fled to reach safety in Omdurman. [Middle East Eye]

British Foreign Minister describes the situation in Sudan as the world’s worst humanitarian crisis

  • Britain's top diplomat David Lammy said on Monday that Sudan was experiencing "the worst humanitarian catastrophe in the world". [AFP]
