Médecins Sans Frontières: war in Sudan has devastated the health sector
MSF has warned that the health situation in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, is worsening due to the war, making access to basic, life-saving healthcare impossible.
Suleiman Ammar, the organisation's medical coordinator, said that the war has had a "devastating impact on people's ability to access healthcare in Khartoum.”
Ammar considered the resumption and expansion of basic healthcare services at Bashayer Hospital and beyond “unbearable, because we needed it yesterday.”
The MSF’s emergency coordinator called for an expansion of humanitarian assistance and access in Khartoum, protection of medical care, and ensuring access to care for all Sudanese across the country.

United Nations expresses concern over mass displacement from Sudan
The UN has expressed concern over the mass displacement from Sudan to Chad in recent days.
The UNHCR representative in Chad, Magatte Guisse, revealed during a press conference in Geneva today that "some 20,000 people, mostly exhausted and traumatized women and children, have arrived in Chad in the past two weeks alone.”
He stressed that "this influx is the result of escalating violence in Sudan's North Darfur region, particularly in and around El Fasher, which has caused mass displacement at an alarming rate.”
