MSF: The situation in White Nile is out of control owing to cholera outbreak
The medical director of the MSF project in Kosti says that “the situation in Kosti hospital is extremely worrying and could spiral out of control.”
The organisation confirmed that there have been tens of deaths and more than 800 people are being treated for symptoms.
The cholera treatment centre at Kosti hospital has been overwhelmed by the number of patients, requiring use of the hospital’s emergency rooms.

The UN warns against the declaration of a parallel government in Sudan
The announcement of a parallel government threatens to “exacerbate the ongoing crisis” in the country
”We are deeply concerned about any further escalation of the conflict in Sudan, and any such action would further divide the country and risk exacerbating the crisis,” Stephane Dujarric said in a statement on Wednesday.
The Sudanese government on Tuesday condemned Kenya’s hosting of a meeting that included political forces and leaders of the Rapid Support Forces, considering it “an encouragement to divide African countries and deviate from the rules of good neighbourliness.”

RSF prepares to announce charter to create parallel government in Sudan.
Sudanese politicians Al-Hadi Idris and Ibrahim al-Mirghani said that the RSF will sign a charter with allied political and military groupings to establish parallel government in territories under its control.
Kenya hosted the talks, drawing condemnation from Sudan and domestic criticism in Kenya. A government of this sort, which has already raised alarms at the UN, is unlikely to widespread recognition.

Renewed fighting between SAF and RSF in central Khartoum and the Soba Bridge area
The intensity of fighting between the two sides had decreased over the previous two days. The SAF targeted RSF forces in Khartoum and East Nile with heavy artillery from its positions in Omdurman.
The SAF is attempting, via several axes including the al-Muqrin district and East Nile via the Soba Bridge, to regain control over the Khartoum area.

Deaths and injuries from airstrikes on Khazan Jadid, al-Koma, and Nyala.
Warplanes launched an attack on the Khazan Jadid area in East Kordofan, killing at least 10 and injuring tens more.
The area hosts thousands of displaced people fleeing conflict in North Darfur. In North Darfur, warplanes carried out multiple raids against the city of al-Koma. There have also been renewed attacks on Nyala in South Darfur.

Consultations between political forces end without agreement in Addis Ababa.
Sudanese political forces ended their consultations in Addis Ababa without reaching a consensus, during a new round of talks held by the African Union for the main Sudanese political groupings.
The bloc supporting the army raised objections to the paper presented by the African Union on issues of justice, military reform and governance structures.
A statement issued by Sumud stressed the importance of consultations organised by the African Union, pointing to continued efforts to design a political process that includes all parties except the National Congress and its proxies.
