أميركا توافق على استثناء المساعدات الإنسانية للسودان من قرار التجميد
كشفت السفيرة الأميركية القائمة بالأعمال بالإنابة،دوروثي شيا، أمام مجلس الأمن الخميس عن موافقة الولايات المتحدة على استثناء المساعدات الإنسانية للسودان من قرار الرئيس دونالد ترمب الذي كان أمر بتجميدها
عقد مجلس الأمن الخميس جلسة إحاطة حول الوضع في السودان. بطلب من الدنمارك والمملكة المتحدة، صاحبة القلم في هذا الملف، لمعالجة حماية المدنيين والعواقب الإنسانية للصراع.
قالت شيا: “فيما يتعلق بالمساعدات الإنسانية، يقوم وزير الخارجية ماركو روبيو بمراجعة جميع برامج المساعدات الخارجية الأمريكية لضمان توافقها مع السياسة الخارجية الأمريكية، وفقًا لما يقتضيه الأمر التنفيذي للرئيس ترامب. مع ذلك، تمت الموافقة على استثناء للمساعدات الإنسانية المنقذة للحياة للسودان، بما في ذلك الغذاء الطارئ والأدوية والمأوى والمساعدات المعيشية”

United States agrees to exempt humanitarian assistance to Sudan from the aid freeze
Acting US Chargé Affaires Dorothy Shea revealed to the Security Council on Thursday that the United States had agreed to exempt humanitarian aid to Sudan from President Donald Trump’s decision to freeze it. The Security Council held a briefing on the situation in Sudan on Thursday at the request of Denmark and the United Kingdom, the co-sponsors of the file, to address the protection of civilians and the humanitarian consequences of the conflict. Shea stated with regard to humanitarian assistance that Secretary of State Marco Rubio is reviewing all US foreign assistance programs to ensure they are consistent with US foreign policy, as required by President Trump’s executive order. However, an exception has been approved for life-saving humanitarian assistance to Sudan, including emergency food, medicine, shelter, and subsistence assistance.”
The United States was the largest single donor of humanitarian assistance to Sudan, contributing $800 million in 2023, representing approximately 46% of funds allocated to the UN response plan.

Continued flow of displaced people from Khartoum to Darfur
The movement of displaced people began in the week before Ramadan, and the number of displaced people has reached more than 5’000.
A number of displaced persons have arrived in El Geneina in West Darfur and Nyala in South Darfur, while the influx of displaced persons continues to Al-Fula in West Kordofan. Khartoum state is witnessing extensive military operations, with the SAF recently taking control of Bahri and East Nile.

Enforced disappearance of 11 girls, increasing maternal deaths in Khartoum’s South Belt
The number of pregnant women who died in childbirth in the South Belt area has risen to 7 in recent days. The deaths occurred due to complications and the lack of a government-equipped hospital for emergency cases. The South Belt Emergency Room has monitored an alarming increase in the cases of missing women and girls, especially those under the age of 18.

اعتبرها تهدد بـ«تقسيم» البلاد. ودعا جميع دوله الأعضاء، وكذلك المجتمع الدولي، إلى «عدم الاعتراف بأي حكومة أو كيان موازٍ يهدف إلى
تقسيم جمهورية السودان أو مؤسساتها وحكم جزء من أراضيها». سجّل الاتحاد الأوروبي موقفاً مماثلاً ببيان صدر عن مجلس الأمن الدولي الأسبوع الماضي، واعتبر أن الحكومة الموازية تُهدد التطلعات الديموقراطية السودانية.
The African Union warns against the “division of Sudan”
The AU has warned against the formation of a parallel government in Sudan, expressing concern over this move, which it believes threatens the division of the country. It called on all its member states, as well as the international community, not to recognise any parallel government or entity that aims to divide the Republic of Sudan or its institutions or govern part of its territory.”
The European Union took a similar stance in a statement issued by the UN Security Council last week, considering the parallel government a threat to Sudan’s democratic aspirations.

Sudanese Army advances in El Fasher, Rapid Support Forces kill 8 civilians in Khartoum
The SAF has advanced in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, and has also retaken the town of Al-Trus, located between White Nile and Sennar states. The RSF shelled the city of El Obeid on Friday evening for the sixth consecutive day. The SAF’s Sixth Infantry Division’s media office in El Fasher reported that the army is continuing to advance on all fronts in El Fasher.

New Violations Against Al-Kanabi Residents in Al-Gezira State
The Al-Kanabi Congress Central Committee accused the SAF and mobilized forces of burning five villages in Al-Kamlin locality in Al-Gezira state. The Committee condemned this as part of of a series of killings and forced displacement of Al-Kanabi residents. A force composed of mobilized troops attacked Ronga camp in the Al-Masid unit on February 19, beating and humiliating residents before burning the village.

A staggering increase in global displacement is expected, with an Arab country at the forefront.
A humanitarian organization working with refugees has predicted that wars will force more than 6.7 million people into displacement around the world over the next two years, noting that a third of these cases will be recorded in Sudan and Myanmar.
In a report, the Danish Refugee Council said that nearly a third of new displacements will be in Sudan, which is "the world’s most urgent humanitarian crisis”. The report added that starvation has been used as a weapon of war, plunging the country into one catastrophic famine after another.”
